Winslow Lady Bulldogs blast Chinle Lady Wildcats

CHINLE, Ariz. - The Winslow Lady Bulldogs continued to dominate their competition in the early part of the season with a 21-0 win over the Chinle Lady Wildcats at Chinle. The Lady Bulldogs have scored almost at will and kept the opposition off home plate.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Chinle Lady Wildcats 21-0 in a softball game played at Chinle on Tuesday. The win was Winslow's fifth in as many outings and the fourth of which was ended after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Kelley Pugh and Mallory Smith pitched a perfect game against the hapless Lady Wildcats as they did not allow a hit or a walk. Pugh worked three innings and had seven stakeouts. Smith worked the final two innings and fanned three.

The Lady Bulldogs scored five runs in the top of the first inning and twp more in the second inning. Three runs in each of the next two innings and eight in the top of the fifth assured an early ending on the mercy rule.

Mireya Ulibarri led the Lady Bulldogs at the plate with a four for four day including a double. Melissa Jacobs was four for five with two doubles. Haley Hayes was three for tour with a pair of double.

Jaleisa Hayes was two for three. Gabby Stacey was three for five. Renee Bollin was two for four. Becca Perez was two for five with a double. Arianna Huerta was two for five. Mallory Smith was one for two. Megan Lymer was one for two.

The Lady Bulldogs were to participate In the Payson Invitational Tournament on March 18 and 19, but will not play again until Monday, March 28 when they host Blue Ridge.
