Winslow Bulldogs speak well at tournament

WINSLOW Ariz.-Congratulations to the Winslow High School Speech and Debate Team for a spectacular performance at the Winter Trophy Tournament Dec. 2-3 at River Valley High School in Mohave.

Twelve out of 17 entries broke to the finals round of competition. First place championship trophies were awarded to Josh Cirre in poetry, Emmett Foster in prose, and Emmett Foster and Brittany Fischer in duo interpretation. Laura Smith was the runner up champion in humor. Brittany Fischer took third place in oratory. Fifth places were awarded to: Josh Cirre, humor; Alexis Sievers and Laura Smith; Alexis Sievers, oratory. Sixth places were awarded to: Nathanial Renney and Daniel Lane, duo acting; Ashley McLaws, poetry; and Nathaniel Renney, dramatic interpretation. Reaching semi-final ranks were: Damieon Gibbs, Daniel Lane, Seth Jennings, all in prose; Adrian Nunez in dramatic interpretation; and Allen Messer, oratory.

Give our team a round of applause for representing Winslow so proudly in this state wide competition.
