Winslow's 9-11 Memorial 10th Anniversary

Planning has started for the annual 9-11 Memorial Service, which will be held on September 11, this year. It falls on a Sunday and will be held at the Gazebo across from the intersection of Kinsley Avenue and First Street. The start time is 6 p.m.

Some of the events taking place are: 1. 10 US Flags carried and placed, signifying the 10 years elapsed since the Twin Towers Attack. 2. Hopi Jr. ROTC to have a Color Guard and Drill Team. 3. Navajo County Sheriff Dept. will be represented. 4. Winslow Fire Department in attendance. 5. Winslow Police in attendance. 6. A representative from the Army, Navy and Marines will be in attendance. 7. Music will be played. 8. The Hays Sisters will sing gospel and patriotic songs. 9. There will be a fly-over by Air Force Fighters from Luke AFB. 10. A remembrance speech by a relative of a 9-11 victim will be given and and/or a thank you note from last year's 9-11 relative will be read.

Dr. Greg Hackler will be the Master of Ceremonies. Mayor Robin Boyd will give an inspirational speech.
