The Tuba City Boarding School Thunderbird football team ended a successful season highlighted by their defeat of Tuba City Jr. High School for the Tuba City bell. The longstanding rivalry for the bell is played out yearly at the Tuba City High School football field between the cross-town teams. Head Coach Keith Sumner and assistant coaches Ernest Gishi and Terrance Honanie are proud of the teams accomplishments this year. Coach Sumner has coached some of these athletes for three years and now they will continue their education at the high school. The T-Birds ended their season with a record of 6-1-1. Athletic Director Johnny Riggs says they were pretty good. "They have been playing since pee wee football."
