Lady Bulldogs sweep Chino Valley 10-0 on Thursday

CHINO VALLEY, Ariz. - The Winslow Lady Bulldogs coasted to a 10-0 win over the Chino Valley Cougars in a non-regional softball game played on Thursday at Chino Valley. The win improved Winslow's record to 9-2 for the season.

Kelly Pugh pitched a brilliant no hit shutout. She walked two batters and fanned six in her five innings of work in a game shortened due to the 10 run "mercy" rule.

Winslow scored twice in the second inning on singles by Jennifer Yazzie, Felicia Nagle, Melissa Jacobs, Kyli Parsons and Mireya Ulibarri. That score held until the top of the fifth when the Lady Bulldogs plated the eight runs needed to shorten the game after Pugh shutout the Lady Cougars in the bottom of the frame. Gabrielle Stacey, Arianna Huerta, Bernice Gover, and Jacobs all had singles in the rally. Annie Scott and Nagle had doubles and there was a walk and an error.

Nagle was three for three with a double. Annie Scott was one for one. Yazzie and Jacobs were two for three. Gover was two for four. Ulibarri, Stacey, Huerta and Parsons were all one for three.
