This past week I've seen a real sigh of relief from people in my travels. What brought this to mind is seeing people steadfast with their noses to the grindstones, all because of GAS. Lately travel and visits to loved ones and places seem almost an unbearable burden by the thoughts of "Gas Prices". I've been in a debate as well, whether to ride the bus or ride the bike? To my relief the prices did stabilize and dropped! Yes "Dropped", I can't begin to recall the last time gas dropped because it seems the impact this time around was so devastatingly costly to everyone.

Well in one of my most recent weekend escapes. I took some friends along with my family for a Saturday drive to a small town nearby. There we visited a park that none of us figured or knew even existed. The place is Clear Creek/McHood Park just outside of Winslow. Comical as it may be! The reason for the trip had not a thing to do with the park! For us, it was all about "Chicken", yep! Churches Chicken, and the nearest place we could find this was Winslow.

To ease my mind I looked at the plan with enthusiasm and planned a strategy because you see, we had been talking about this for a week or two before and cancelled the trip both times. I figured we could do something besides easing the cravings we all built up over "Churches Chicken".... I looked into a book listing the many things you could do in Northern Arizona and there it was! Titled "Arizona's hidden secret".

The place seemed pleasant from the photos but being the skeptic I am I downplayed my expectations to make disappointment easier to stomach if my plans flopped! In the end we found a new place of refuge and a sanctuary where we can go to escape the pressure that the untimely happenings can burden us with.

Everyone enjoyed the trip and all that were there for the same reasons were having a great time. Kids were playing in the water, jumping from ledges and even a bridge crossing where some of the more daring ones jumped into the water below. Boaters were enjoying themselves and we even meet a couple that was teaching their dog "Lenny" (poodle) how to swim.

In all of this I recalled the Elder's telling me to play in the water and have a water fight. This was welcoming to the Gods of Rain to see our desires for the much needed rain. In this there is life, rejuvenation to all living thing, even the spirit. All Natives know your dance and it is from that dance you find the sanctuary or peace of mind in all troubled times. Hold to these traditions, as they are your motivator, never waver, be steadfast, and never give up.
