A Note of Appreciation to Tuba City Regional Health Care Center

May 25, 2007

Thank you, thank you to the director of the Tuba City Indian Medical Center (TCIMC) for addressing my concern regarding the parking areas at the TC Medical Facility.

I brought up my concern regarding the parking spaces because everytime I came to the medical center, 95 percent of the parking spaces near the facilty was used by the TCIMC employees at the March 2007 Western Navajo Agency Council (WNAC) meeting at the Tuba City Chapter.

I drove my sister to TCIMC for a short stay surgery and I had to drive up to the front, drop her off then find a parking spot.  I parked at the old agency building near Main Street.  After her release from surgery, I wheeled her out and left her in the lobby while I ran to get the vehicle, which took me about 15 minutes considering the distance.

The next time I visited TCIMC, I was with an 85-year-old woman who is a diabetic. The same scenario as above again; drop her off and look for a parking space. I finally found one in front of the old hospital.

I have notified our TCIMC Health Board members about this issue continously for a year now and nothing was done about the parking areas.

Thank you to the director of TCIMC for the prompt action regarding the parking areas at the TCIMC as I did see the map of the parking areas in your Navajo Hopi Observer newspaper last week.
