KAYENTA-Despite the fierce weather on the afternoon of the Dec. 8, the Hopi JROTC cadets braved through it to participate in the annual K-Town Parade.

The cadets arrived at 12:30 p.m. As soon as they arrived, they unloaded the bus and practiced marching before it was time to begin. For half an hour, the 30 cadets that participated didn't let the coldness get in the way. They marched and shouted until it was their turn to show their stuff in front of the judges.

The judges commented on how well the Hopi High cadets did that day and also the Winslow Parade. Many spectators who toughed it out during the blizzard were pleased with what they saw.

When the parade was all over and done with, the cadets departed at 1:35 that afternoon. The weather may have been very chilly, but that didn't bring down the cadets' pride and joy of marching in the parade. They plan to participate again next year.
