Miss Navajo Nation visits Tuba City Junior High

Miss Navajo Nation 2007 Jocelyn Billy stands with Tuba City Junior High principal Lee Tsinigine. Billy spoke to parents and staff members during their half day in-service training held March 28 at TC High. Miss Billy, as a representative of Native culture, grace and education, holds a degree in political science and applied Indigenous studies from Northern Arizona University and is committed to fulfilling the cultural role of "First Woman, White Shell Woman and Changing Woman" as the ambassador for the Navajo people. Miss Billy sang for the audience and shared a personal story of her own life's changes with the community.
