Winslow wrestlers begin soon

The Winslow High School wrestling team began action today (Nov. 15) with a weight certification at Ganado at 10 a.m. The first regular match will be on Wednesday, Nov. 29 when the Bulldogs host Flagstaff. The junior varsity match is at 5 p.m. and the varsity at 7 p.m.

The team will participate in the Holbrook Invitational Tournament on Dec. 1 and 2 with times to be announced.

Winslow will host a multi-team match with Window Rock, Monument Valley, Hopi and Chinle on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m.

There will be a junior varsity multi-team meet at Payson on Sat. Dec. 9.

Winslow will host another multi-team match on Wednesday, Dec. 13 with Ganado, Snowflake, Hopi and Window Rock slated for 4 p.m.

The Blue Ridge Invitational on Dec. 15 and 16 will complete the 2006 portion of the schedule.

The team will participate in a multi-team meet at Round Valley on Wednesday, Jan. 3 at 4:30 p.m.

Winslow will host the Doc Wright Invitational Tournament on Jan. 12 and 13 with Friday's action to start at 1 p.m. Saturday's start time will be announced later.

Winslow will host Joseph City in a dual match on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m.

The Bulldogs will participate in the Page Invitational on Jan. 19 and 20.

Winslow will host Holbrook in a dual match on Wednesday, Jan. 24 with the junior varsity action starting at 6 p.m. and the varsity starting at 7 p.m.

Payson will host a junior varsity multi-team event on Saturday, Jan. 27.

The 3A North Region Tournament will be held at Ganado on Feb. 3 and the Arizona State 3A Conference Tournament in Phoenix on Feb. 9 and 10 with places and times to be announced later.
