Seeks help with tuition for conference in DC

My name is Rodriguez Begay and I am a fifth grader at Kyrene de los Ninos. I am a Navajo (Dine) from Tuba City, Arizona. My clans are Bitter Water born for the Redhouse. I was recently nominated to attend the 2006 Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. this summer.

My teacher, Mrs. Virginia Espinoza, nominated me. I was recognized from a select group of students with academic achievements, strong leadership, scholastic merit, maturity and responsibility to attend this unique leadership program.

I will be attending a reception on Capitol Hill, exploring historic Harpers Ferry, and a sleepover in the interactive Maryland Science Center. I will also experience the presidents and first ladies at the Museum of American History, explore the Lincoln, Vietnam Veterans, and Korean War Memorials, and receive a VIP view of this historic city, In attending the 2006 JNYLC, I wish to gain personal growth, confidence, leadership skills and independence.

Tuition for the six-day conference is $1,720 and includes all housing, program materials, breakfasts, lunches, dinners and motor coach transportation to all locations during the conference.

The cost of transportation to and from the conference is not included in the conference tuition. My tuition must be paid no later than May 3, 2006.

Sponsors will receive a positive publicity when I include a reference to their sponsorship in a press release to local newspapers. Also CYCL will be sending a press release which will be distributed to local newspapers and they are willing to work with sponsors on additional public relations efforts.

Your support for my sponsorship request would be greatly appreciated. Please visit the CYLC at www.cylgorg for further information on the conference and to help you make your decision. If you have any questions regarding the conference or where to send the assistance, please contact my mother, Melvina Begay at 602-793-5822. Thank you.
