St. Michaels holds meeting

A regular meeting will be held 1 p.m. April 23 at St. Michaels Chapter. The items on the agenda include, chapter resolutions pertaining to Housing Discretionary Funds, Scholarship/Financial Assistance and Homesite Leases. For more information, call 928-871-7842.

Window Rock Rodeo set

Dine College will be putting on a National Intercollegiate Rodeo with Crown Point Institute of Technology in Window Rock Arizona on April 21-22. The performances are as follows: Friday at 1 p.m. slack, and Friday night at 7 p.m., and Saturday at 1 p.m. will be the short round. The top 10 in each event will come back.

Martial arts

Eagle Bear Society and the Indigo Movement are currently offering martial arts classes. North American Tang Shou Tao for youth is offered 3:30-5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the cafeteria of Monument Valley High School in Kayenta; for adults, the class is offered 5:30-8 p.m.(same day & location). Classes are also offered 3:30-5 p.m. Thursdays at Kayenta Middle school and 9 a.m.-noon every first Saturday and last Saurday of the month at Monument Valley High in Utah. Wrestling clinic

A Mustang Wrestling Club Clinic will be held 2 p.m.-5 p.m., April 23 in the Wrestling Room at Monument Valley High School in Kayenta. The cost $15.00 per entry includes three hours of top instruction by Tyler Brandt, who is an Olympic Gold Level Coach, a member of Olympic Coaches Training Committee and been coach of numerous State and Collegiate Champions. Coaches and parents., and kids from kindergarten up are invited to attend. Olympic Training videos will be available at discounted prices.

Workshop

An active parenting of teens workshop will be held April 20-21 at the Hopi Cultural Center conference room in Kykotsmovi. Nancy Spence will be the presenter at this workshop sponsored by Hopi Jr/Sr High School. Lunch will be provided both days. 2nd Half of Life

On Thursday, April 20, AIM (Attitude, Insight, Motivation) Seminars presents: "Finding Fulfillment, Purpose and Creativity in the Second Half of Life." Participants will explore the gifts and challenges that come with each stage of life. Designed for those in mid-life and beyond, as well as those working with older adults, this seminar will address unique situations such as grandparents raising grandchildren. The seminar will explore tools for creating a legacy of wisdom, joy and spiritual connection. It will take place at the Navajo Nation Museum and special Hawaiian entertainment will be included. Caregivers

A Navajo Family Caregiver support meeting will take place 1 p.m. April 19 at Tuba City Senior Center. The focus of this gathering will be to meet and share information with other caregivers, identify the challenges of being a caregiver, and learn more about Navajo Family Caregiver Support. Uranium victims

A Western Navajo Agency Uranium Victims Meeting will take place 9 a.m. Wednesday April 26 at the To'Nanees'Dizi Chapter House, Tuba City. There will be updates and reports relating to Uranium Victims and information on filing for compensation under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA). Corral project

On National and Global Youth Service Day weekend, April 22-23, students of the STAR School will join with Leupp and Flagstaff community members to repair four corrals in the south Leupp area. The event will kick off with a presentation at the STAR School at 8 a.m. where tribal, state and Coconino County officials will speak about the value of service learning. Volunteers from communities, churches and other organizations are invited to join in this event and breakfast--workers are needed for Saturday and/or Sunday.
