Police Log Sept. 4-9

The Winslow Police Department responded to the following incidents during Sept. 4-9. This is not a complete list of calls that officers answered. Unless otherwise noted, all charged suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Sept. 5

Auto burglary

A guest at the Holiday Inn Express reported his vehicle had been broken into while parked in the parking lot. Two suitcases valued at $2,000 were reported missing. A white four-door vehicle with two men inside was seen leaving the scene in a hurry.

Home burglary

A home on the 600 block of Kinsley was broken into. It was reported at 9:12 p.m. A Playstation 2 and games and DVDs were reported missing. A suspect's name was given to police who are investigating.

Sept. 6

Warranted

Wallace Begay, 22, was arrested on a warrant from the Winslow Justice of the Peace Court after he was caught shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

Sept. 7

Warranted

Police responded to activity at an abandoned building on Hicks near Second Street. Police arrested three people on valid warrants. Kee Yazzie, 37, was wanted on a felony warrant and misdemeanor warrant from the Winslow Justice of the Peace (WJP); Thomasina Long, 21, wanted on WJP and two Holbrook Police Department warrants; and Tony Tsosie, 35, wanted on a felony and two misdemeanor warrants from WJP. Another woman was identified but had no outstanding warrants.

Home burglary

A house on the 400 block of Snider was broken into. The crime was reported at 11:07 p.m. A DVD-VCR player, DVDs and jewelry, valued at a combined $850 was reported missing.

Sept. 8

Auto Burglary

A car parked at the Painted Desert Apartments was broken into and $150 worth of miscellaneous items were reported missing.

Police received five calls regarding animals, nine disorderly conduct calls, 13 trespassing calls, nine assaults or domestic violence calls, responded to 31 medical emergencies and issued 17 traffic tickets or warnings.
