Taco Bell to reopen in Spring

Taco Bell is scheduled to reopen its Winslow store in March 2006, but there's a twist. It will no longer be just a Taco Bell, but will also include a Long John Silver's.

Desert de Oro Foods, the family-owned franchise that owns the Winslow outlet, has 49 fast food outlets located throughout Arizona.

"Food service technology and building design has changed quite a bit since we purchased the Winslow Taco Bell in 1999, and we want to provide our employees with the safest, most up-to-date work environment possible," said Mark Peterson, who is in charge of development for the company. "In addition, customers are telling us they want more variety, more choices, and multi-branding, or combining two brands in one facility, gives customers the additional choices they're asking for."

The Winslow location previously employed 15 people, most of whom are working at the Holbrook Taco Bell through construction. The new restaurant will employ about 60 people.

"We're really looking forward to opening the new restaurant in Winslow and we hope our customers are excited about it too," said Peterson.
