Black resigns from NAVIT governing board

Dr. David Black, the Winslow School District representative on the Northern Arizona Vocational Institute of Technology (NAVIT) governing board, has submitted his resignation to Navajo County Superintendent of Schools Alicia "AJ" Brown, effective Oct. 28.

"I have appreciated the opportunity to work with an exceptional NAVIT administration, staff, educators and governing board," said Black.

NAVIT meetings are held in Snowflake once a month on Wednesday evenings.

This is an opportunity for the representative to have input on the vocational training offered to Winslow students.

Any registered voter who is interested may apply to be considered.

Applications for the appointment are available at the superintendents office, located at the County Governmental Complex, 100 E. Carter Drive, Holbrook, by calling (928) 524-4204, or at the Winslow School District office.

All forms and recommendations must be returned to the county school superintendent's office by 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov.. 25.

Interviews will be scheduled the following week.
