A letter from home to aWHS grad on active duty

To Cpl. Korey Smith, USMC:

As a Blue Star Mother of the Navajo Nation, I have the great privilege of saying, “Thank you, son, and you never disappointed me.”

You always had the passion for athletic ability throughout your journey. You gave your best in good faith.

You are a special person who gave so much and never expected anything in return.

I’m humble in Jesus Christ for everything and for your safe return home.

I strongly encourage everybody to keep all U.S. armed forces in your prayers.

Have a happy birthday, son. God bless always.

Love, mom, Nancy Franklin, and brothers, Nick Nakia Smith and Edwin and Zachary
