Clark Etsitty, master of ceremonies and Pinon Elementary School counselor recalled that the same blessing was done in the same room in 1984.

“We should see this as a way of rejuvenation for more good things to come,” Superintendent Frank L. White said.

Superintendent White addressed the appreciative crowd attending the dedication.

“This old building feels new and it has a lot of space to work. Overall it is really nice,” Superintendent White said.

Pinon Unified School District dedicated its new district office complex on March 17 with school officials, students and parents present. Above is the district boardroom.

Following their performance, Mitchell Bull, PUSD security supervisor, gave a traditional blessing for the renovated building. His daughter accompanied him in the blessing.

Clark Etsitty, master of ceremonies and Pinon Elementary School counselor recalled that the same blessing was done in the same room in 1984.

“We should see this as a way of rejuvenation for more good things to come,” Superintendent Frank L. White said.

Paula Caldwell, PUSD Governing Board president, spoke after the superintendent gave his opening remarks. Two former school board members, Tom Lapahe and Bessie Allen, also made short speeches.

Dedication attendees had an opportunity to tour the district complex. Parents in the crowd presented workshops on No Child Left Behind and Arizona Yearly Progress. Additional workshop covered “Monitoring Student Progress,” and “How Language Influences Learning and Stanford English Language Proficiency.”

Superintendent White concluded the dedication by saying, “Our mission is to give our students the best possible education and to prepare them for the world.”
