Police arrest 3 for paintball attacks
In the late afternoon on May 29, the Winslow Police Department Communications Center received a call from a male individual who reported being shot with a paintball gun.-- Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of W. Third Street to investigate.--
Officers located three victims, all reporting being shot.--The victims gave police a detailed description of the suspects and the vehicle they were driving at the time.--
A short time later, officers located the vehicle and three individuals fitting the description provided.--During the ensuing investigation, a paintball gun and two slingshots were recovered.--All three suspects were detained for further investigation.--
As a result of this investigation, 18-year-old Derick Ben Thompson was booked into the Navajo County Jail in Holbrook on multiple charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.--
The remaining two suspects are juveniles.--They were referred to the Navajo County Superior Court for the same offenses.--All charges are felony offenses.
