The Winslow Bulldogs nearly ran the table in the 3A North Region for spring sports championships and awards.

Last week, it was announced that Bulldogs won the Player of the Year award in four of the five sports in which Winslow participates in the spring.

Senior Tessa Ramsey was named the Player of the Year for softball. She led the Lady Bulldogs with a .450 batting average and 42 stolen bases on the year as the centerfielder. She was three-for-three against Pinon to win the region.

The Bulldogs' centerfielder also earned the award. Junior Jordan Payne was the offensive catalyst for the team as they fell just two games short of a state title this season. He recorded four hits against Window Rock to help the Bulldogs win the regional crown.

Senior Stephanie Garnett was named the girls' track Player of the Year. She won three gold medals at the 2005 State Championships and helped the Lady Bulldogs win the region title.

Senior Carlos Quezada won the boys' track honor as he helped the Bulldogs win the region also. He finished first in the 110m and 300m high hurdles and second in the triple jump at the regional meet.
