Attend Winter Stories session

The Diné College Office of Continuing Education is offering two Winter Stories sessions. The first (in English) will be Jan. 20-21 at Greyhills Academy High School auditorium in Tuba City. The second (in Navajo) will be Jan. 27-28 at the Navajo Nation Museum auditorium in Window Rock. There is a fee of $150, which includes two continental breakfasts, educational materials and a certificate of completion. For more information, call 928-283-6321.

Benefit Song and Dance

K’ai’bito Dine Bisilaotsoohi Inc. is holding an Active Servicemen/women Benefit Song & Dance at 10 a.m. Jan. 29 in Kaibeto Boarding School Auditorium. Hosts are Rachel Begay and Derrick Sloan of the Tonanneesdizi Midnighters. At half time gifts will be distributed to Blue Star Mothers with recognition of Kaibeto servicemen and women. Awards go to group singers, first through third place, skip and two step dancers, best-dressed dancers, jackpot dancers, youngest and oldest dancers. There will be a raffle, concessions, a cakewalk and door prizes.

Co-ed youth b-ball tourney

Flagstaff Bordertown Dormitory is sponsoring a Youth Basketball Tournament for 12 and under boys and 12 and under girls Jan. 21-22 at Middle Verde Tribal Gym in Middle Verde. The entry fee is $125 per eight-player team. Awards go to first through third place, the MVP, and eight all-stars. Proof age is required.
