'Let's Get Certified' a valuable resource

As a member of Cameron's CLUPC, I have enjoyed trainings that I've attend, in an effort to assist my chapter on it's road to becoming a certified chapter. I attended a workshop Aug. 10 at Tuba City Chapter, along with our Community Service Coordinator, Rayola Werito. The workshop was put on by Priscilla Littlefoot (To nanees dizi Chapter CSC) and staff members.

The "Let's get Certified," was refreshing. It was a presentation from firsthand knowledge /experience, by folks who actually went through and completed chapter certification. Now, they're willing to network and assist non-certified chapters. It was a great opportunity to "avoid reinventing the wheel."

Priscilla & Co. walked us through the specifics of the certification process and transition phase (setting the chapter up under its own plan of operation). These have been gray areas and it was useful to have Priscilla share her experience and increase our understanding of the value of achieving certification.

In addition, the enthusiasm/desire to help was enough to get me energized for Cameron's last phase of document development and the certification phase. Shedding light on what's ahead (for Cameron) was very valuable.

Knowing the work involved, congratulations to all chapters who can now reap the benefits of self-governance. Cameron will soon join the ranks of certified chapters!
