Alumni meet in Window Rock

Prescott College is hosting an alumni reception on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 1-4 p.m. in the Coral Room of the Navajo Nation Quality Inn, 48 West Highway 264, in Window Rock. Vicky Young, coordinator for Native American students at Prescott College, and Melanie Lefever, admissions counselor, will be on-hand to answer questions and provide information. FMC family health lectures

Flagstaff Medical Center’s Childbirth Education program has expanded to include an emphasis on women, children and families’ needs through support, education and health screenings. Monday night health lectures feature free hour-long talks provided by a variety of community experts. On Sept. 20, the topic is “What Every Woman Should Know About Pregnancy Emergencies.” Richard Johansen, M.D., board-certified in obstetrics/gynecology will discuss warning signs that might signal an emergency during pregnancy, and what to do if one should arise. Topics to be covered include tubal pregnancies, placenta previa and abruption, and pregnancy-induced hypertension. The talks will be given at 7 p.m. in FMC’s McGee Auditorium.
