Curnutte, Sullenberger, Conatser, Ramsey Head All 3A North Softball All Region Team

Winslow High School Senior Nicole Curnutte was named the 3A North Region Softball Player of the Year by regional coaches and athletic directors at a meeting during the regional tournament. Treva Gilmore of Monument Valley was named the regional Coach of the Year.

Curnutte, who has been the starting catcher for the Lady Bulldogs for the past four years, was joined on the team by fellow Winslow players Juliet Sullenberger (senior pitcher, infielder), Brianna Conatser (sophomore pitcher, first baseman) and Tessa Ramsey (junior center fielder).

Other All Region team members included Phyllisia Simpson and Sheila Sells of Monument Valley, Jearlyn Denetclaw and Darreika Dick of Window Rock, Charnaine Dash of Greyhills, Heather Ben of Pinon and Monique Tsosie, Gina Williams and Janene Martinez of Tuba City.

Lady Bulldogs Rae Cutfinger, senior outfielder, and Sarah Ragnoli, junior shortstop, received Honorable Mention.

Sullenberger was named to the Arizona State 3A Conference All State Team and selected to play in the Arizona Senior All Star Softball Game on June 3 in Casa Grande. Curnutte was selected to play in that game, but has a conflict in her schedule. Cutfinger was selected as an alternate and will play if a position becomes open.
