Wildcats lose for first time<br>

The Mogollon Mustangs handed the Joseph City Wildcats their first defeat of the season with a 30-14 win on Friday in Joseph City.

The loss left the Mustangs undefeated and dropped the Wildcats to 5-1 for the season.

Joseph City drew first blood and led 6-0 after the first period of play.

Mogollon tied the score in the second quarter, and then went ahead 12-6 before the intermission.

The Mustangs scored twice to Joseph City’s once in the third period and led the still close contest 24-14 going into the final period of play.

A final touchdown in the fourth period gave the Mustangs a 30-14 win.

Mogollon has two games left in its regular season. The Mustangs will host St. Michaels on Friday and be at Seligman on Oct. 22.

The Wildcats will complete their regular season on Friday when they host the Salome Frogs.

The Frogs have reported only one score all season, a 26-25 loss to Orme.
