Sends words of love to grandmother

My grandmother passed away on Sept. 10, 2004, and I was unable to attend her funeral, which I am very sad about. If you would so kindly publish my words of love, my family and I would consider it a blessing.

These words are all I have to give on my behalf to the community of Tuba City to express my love for our late Grandma Edgewater.

To my people:

She had God’s touch—with so much love it was never rough. That perfect smile worth all these colorful sunsets plus every impossible sunrise—she proved that much.

Alone she stands with her flock of sheep, determined more than ever that us children were warm and asleep. Though all are lost, she will always be the boss. Every morning she would send us on our way with hopes and dreams to become what only she has seen.

Now that we’re all awake, she is no longer here to show us what it takes. God bless our Grandma Edgewater. She showed us life is not without love and unity. Be strong.
