Lady Bulldogs began regional play

The Winslow Lady Bulldogs softball team began 3A North Region play with a 9-0 win over Greyhills on April 6 in Winslow. The victory improved WinslowÕs record to 18-5 for the season.

Brianna Conatser was the winning pitcher, allowing only one hit and two walks while fanning six batters. She improved her record to 5-0 for the season.

Anna Pacheco was two for two to lead the Lady Bulldogs at the plate. Rae Cutfinger was two for three. Juliet Sullenberger was two for four. Amanda Wilcox was one for two. Alex Magana was one for three. Conatser had a double in four trips. Tessa Ramsey, Sarah Ragnoli and Kathy Taylor were all also one for four.

On Wednesday, Winslow and Blue Ridge played four innings before the game was halted due to rain with the score tied at 2-2. The game will be completed when the teams meet at Blue Ridge on April 21.

On Thursday, the Lady Bulldogs defeated the Hopi Lady Bruins 9-2 at Polacca to run their record to 19-5 for the season and 2-0 in the 3A North Region.

Juliet Sullenberger was the winning pitcher, improving her record to 9-3. She worked five innings and gave up one run on two hits and three walks. She struck out 10 batters. for two. Nicole Curnutte had a home run in three trips to the plate.
