In the next month, O’Connor will also organize175 food and gift baskets for those in need. She’s also setting up a specialized Santa’s Store, which will have brand new toys for various children’s age groups. Referred families that cannot afford to buy gifts for their children can come and pick out a toy, have it wrapped and delivered on Christmas Day.

O’Connor said she’d like to thank the 15 Tuba City businesses that helped make the annual Thanksgiving dinner a success as well as the 31 community members who cooked turkeys and the more than 70 volunteers.

Anyone who would like to help with the purchase of a new toy or financial gift for Christmas, can contact O’Connor at 928-283-5062 or call the St. Jude’s Food Bank at 928-283-6886 and ask for Sister Francis.
