St. Jude’s Soup Kitchen serves record number<br>

This year she had every business in Tuba City donate the turkeys and food. She got 34 local community members to cook the turkeys, and she organized Tuba City High School students to help serve and wash dishes.

The local Tuba City Girl Scouts, the Tuba City High School National Honor Society trick-or-treated for canned goods last month. The CCD Catholic Class helped with the pies, and the Tuba City Wellness Center staff held a food drive for O’Conner’s annual event.

O’Connor got her food prep experience by volunteering in shelter in Chicago before she and her husband moved her to Tuba City more than 18 years ago and finds this is direct way to serve her adopted home community of Tuba City.
