Hopi Tribal Chairman cleared of allegations

KYKOTSMOVI — Hopi Tribal Council Chairman Wayne Taylor Jr. was the target of a Nov. 13 Tribal Council special session called to discuss allegations three members of the Hopi Tribal Council and the Village of Sipaulovi Governing Board brought against him.

The meeting had only one item its agenda—to discuss whether there was enough merit surrounding the allegations to move forward with a formal tribal hearing on disciplinary action and a possible removal of Chairman Taylor for serious neglect of duty.
