Hopi boys bring home 14th state cross country 3A championship in a row<br>

ANTHEM — The Hopi High School boys cross country team once again dominated the state meet for its 14th straight state 3A title Nov. 8 at Anthem Park.

The Bruins packed five runners into the top eight to win the state championship with a score of 23 points.

Hopi High Coach Rick Baker’s squad proved the best of the field with Rio Rico taking second with 51 points, Tuba City grabbed third with 83 and Window Rock finished fourth with 136 points. The other area schools were: Holbrook, sixth; Alchesay, tenth; and Parker, 12th.
