The City of Winslow Animal Care Facility (WACF) will begin selling animal licenses as soon as the facility is fully staffed and operational.
The WACF does not have access to the records of animal license previously sold by the Winslow Humane Society; therefore, the facility cannot identify impounded animal or their owners by those tags.
If you lose your animal or learn that it was impounded, please bring a copy of the license document when you come out to the Winslow Animal Care Facility. This will be useful in verifying ownership and will expedite the return of your animal.
The rebuilding of kennels, bringing the building up to standard, hiring/training personnel and the development of operational policies are procedures that will take time. When completed, the citizens of Winslow will have an Animal Care Facility they can all be proud of.
In the meantime, the City asks dog owners to please be responsible by keeping your animal in your yard. When off your property, your dog must be on a leash. By City ordinance - and, in some instances, state law - the dog owners may be held responsible for any damage or injury caused by their animal.
If you have any questions or comments about the Winslow Animal Care Facility, please contact Lt. Jim Sepi at (928) 289-1445
