Remains in park identified by partial print match-up

The body found partially buried at the Little Painted Desert Park on April 27, 2003 has been identified by pathologist and forensic technicians at the Pima Forensic Center in Tucson as Shayne Sundance Foster, 21, of Winslow.

Positive identification was made on May 7, 2003 through a partial fingerprint from the body.

Foster had not been seen by family or friends for several months, but had not been reported missing.

The exact cause and manner of death has not been determined at this time. It has not been determined if Foster was killed at the site the body was found or if the body was transported to the location and buried.

The case is being investigated as a homicide at this point.
