Books Featuring Historical Winslow Sites Signed By Authors At La Posada Events

Thomas Arthur Repp, author of Route 66: The Romance of the West, autographs a book for Janice Henling of Old Trails Museum at a signing held Sunday afternoon.

Sunday afternoon, Thomas Arthur Repp took the spotlight to Route 66. Repp’s book, Route 66: The Romance of the West, focuses on the stretch of road from east New Mexico to California. The book was published by Mock Turtle Press.

The Chicago to New Mexico part of the historical stretch of road can be found in his book Route 66: The Empire of Amusement.

Repp said he wrote about people and places that have been overlooked by other Route 66 books. “We put stories before pavement,” he added.

Repp thanked Janice Griffith, Director of Old Trails Museum, for her help in directing him towards interesting people in the area.

Forty percent of the proceeds of the books sold Sunday afternoon went to Old Trails Museum.
