Hopi Students Relate To The <br>Tragedy Of Anne Frank

Prescott, Ariz. - The plight of Anne Frank and Jews during Hitler’s attack on Europe was similar to some of the experiences that Native Americans suffered through, according to students from Hopi Junior High School.

Sixty-six students from Hopi Junior High recently attended “The Diary of Anne Frank” as performed by the American Family Theater at Yavapai College in Prescott. This Philadelphia-based acting troupe is on a four month 65-show tour with one to two shows each day. Their tour is throughout the South and Southwest.

Jennifer White, stage manager for American Family Theater’s production of “The Diary of Anne Frank,” said the organization focuses on educational plays. Right now, they have 11 different shows throughout the country including “The Little Mermaid.” White said going to the theater is a positive experience for kids as they may read something and then when they see the play they can relate to it.
