Beeson named to All Arizona and 3A State All Star teams

Winslow High School senior Michael Beeson was named to the All Arizona Baseball Team following completion of the season. The slugging outfielder was also selected for the Arizona 3A Conference Baseball All State Team. Beeson batted .506 with eight home runs, four triples, 11 doubles and 47 runs batted in for the Winslow Bulldogs. He was the team leader in each of those categories.

Senior infielder Seth Davis and junior pitcher Steven Martinez of Winslow were selected for the Arizona 3A Conference Baseball All State Second Team.

Other members of the All Arizona team included pitchers Pat Lawler of Mingus, Tom Wilhelmsen of Tucson, Brett Bores of Dobson and Brock Stephens of Fountain Hills; infielders Brandon Wood of Horizon, Ryan Lily of Canyon del Oro, Matt Henne of Paradise Valley and Nate Combs of Corona del Sol; outfielders Jason Pridie of Prescott and Ryan Mieszala of Greenway; catcher Mike Muscato of Mountain Ridge; designated hitter Mike Nixon of Sunnyslope and utility player Doug Mathis of Show Low. All except junior Henne are seniors.

Other members of the All 3A Conference Team included pitchers Doug Mathis of Show Low and Brock Stephens of Fountain Hills; catchers James Maldonado of Safford and Robert Short of Chino Valley; first baseman Pancho Macias of Safford, infielders Randy Youtsey of Coolidge, Adrian Anaya of Safford, Ky Bradley of Payson and Toby Elkins of Blue Ridge; outfielders Todd Hadley of Fountain Hills, Dusty Dallas of Globe and Jeff Freeman of Sahuarita.

Second team All Arizona squad members included pitchers Tad Hammett of Bisbee, Tim Roehmer of Horizon, Ernest Moraga of Tucson Sunnyside and Biran Budrow of Mountain Ridge; catcher Sam Hayden of Tolleson; infielders Brad Western of Mountain Ridge, Kyle Emmons of Chaparral, Steven Pesqueria of Sunnyside and Phillip Anderson of Gilbert; outfielders Kris Sanchez of Canyon del Oro, Justin Long of Brophy Prep and Adam Mannon of Hamilton; designated hitter Albert Cruz of Chandler and utility player Bowdie Gill of St. David.

Other 3A All State Second Team players include pitchers Jim West of River Valley and Scott Begay of Window Rock, catcher Reyes Murrietta of Coolidge, first baseman Rob Ochoa of Payson; infielders David Scher of Fountain Hills, Nathan Gloyd of Chino Valley, Andrew Brown of Show Low, Will Bessette of Seton Catholic and Tony Chavez of Queen Creek; outfielders Ted Pattock of Seton Catholic and Josh Jacobson of Snowflake.

Jason Pridie of Prescott was named the 4A-5A Player of the Year. Brock Stephens of Fountain Hills was named the 1A-3A Player of the Year. Scott Richardson of Tolleson was named the 4A-5A Coach of the Year. Jim Crawford of St. David was named the 1A-3A Coach of the Year.
