Bulldog Wrestlers Beat Joseph City - Fall To Holbrook

The Winslow Bulldogs wrestling team defeated Joseph City 42-32 in a dual meet at Joseph City on Jan. 24.

Winslow wrestlers Rick Park (112), Jeff Murray (119), Arthur Brito (125) and Rollin Smith (heavyweight) all won by pinning their opponents. Dustin Taylor (140), Steven Martinez (152) and Steven Polacca (171) won by forfeits.

Jesse Hancock (145) lost 15-7, Chris Nelson (130) lost 7-2 and Spencer Prosser (160) lost 15-0. Jeremy Galaviz (189) and Adam Reeves (215) lost by pins.

The Holbrook Roadrunner wrestling team defeated Winslow 37-30 in a dual meet held at Holbrook on Jan. 26.

Winslow winners included Dustin Taylor (140) by pin over Tony Serna, Jesse Hancock (145) by pin over Mike Bowman, Spencer Prosser (160) by pin over Brett Kargas, Steven Polacca (171) by over Nick Serna 8-5, Jeff Murray (119) over Julian Swedburg 12-7, and Steven Martinez (1520 by forfeit.

Winslow wrestlers who lost included Rick Park (112) to Melvin Pahe and Rollin Smith (heavyweight) to Leland Billie by pins, Arthur Brito (125) to Oscar Chairez 9-1, Chris Nelson (130) to Jason Lague 10-2, Efrem Yazzie (135) to Cody Candelaria 15-7, Michael Yazzie (189) to Gary McLaws 13-4 and Troy Johnson (215) to Richard Nez 8-5. Holbrook also received a forfeit win in the 103-pound match.
