County Donates Van To Winslow Seniors

(From left) Pat Raygor, Leslie Ramsey and Bert Sorensen, representatives from the Winslow Council on Aging and the Winslow Senior Center, accept keys to their new van from Navajo County Supervisor JR DeSpain and Cake Chevrolet owner Wilma Cake.

The county donated the van to the Winslow Council on Aging to be used at the Winslow Senior Center. The van will be used to deliver meals to senior citizens meals through the Meals On Wheels program. The van may be used for other travel, as well.

“I hope they get to use this for a long time,” DeSpain commented as he handed over the keys.

Last year, the county donated a van similar to this one to the First Step Workshop program out of Holbrook. The program works with disabled children.

Other representatives from the council present for the donation were Pat Raygor, secretary of the council (right), and board member Leslie Ramsey.

Wilma Cake, of Cake Chevrolet (far left), received the bid for the van and facilitated the donation.
