Basketball Clinics With  College Coaches <br>Clinic Director - Liza Oakley, Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Phoenix College

The Arizona Basketball Group is pleased to announce their inaugural Spring Basketball Clinics for youngsters in grades 4th through 11th.

All clinics will be held at Seton Catholic High School in Chandler (East Valley) and Seton is located on the west side of Dobson Road just north of Ray Road. The clinics will be held on Saturday afternoons from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm except for two Sundays according to the following schedule:

April 6th Saturday Seton

April 14th Sunday Seton

April 20th Saturday Seton

April 28th Sunday Seton

May 4th Saturday Seton

May 11th Saturday Seton

May 18th Saturday Seton

June 1st Saturday Seton

Once again the Blazers clinics will feature current and former college coaches, so they may bring to Arizona players the finest in basketball instruction. These are clinics in which the players will learn because our coaches and clinicians will be teaching them basketball drills that they can use both at the clinics and at home to improve their skills and become become a better basketball player.

April 6    Jeff Peters - Featured Clinician. Jeff is the current Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Scottsdale Community College. Prior to this coaching assignment, Jeff has been an AAU coach for six years and high school coach for five years. He is an excellent teacher and very patient with the players. At 6’6” tall, Jeff does an excellent job in teaching the post players and guard passing into the post.

April 14    Liza Oakley - Featured Clinician. Liza will headline this clinic as well as being on hand as the Director of Clinics. She is the new head coach of highly successful Phoenix College who came within a whisper of going to the JUCO National Championships this year.

April 20    Tom Sutherland - Featured Clinician. Tom spent 10 years as a college coach, two of them in Indiana at a NCAA Division II School and eight years at the following NCAA Division I Schools:  Marist, Manhattan and University of Maryland. Tom has also coached High School State Championship teams in Girl’s Basketball and Softball.

April 28    Joe O’Connor - Featured Clinician. Joe has over 25 years of experience as a college, AAU, and high school coach and is a true teacher of the game. He has pioneered girl’s basketball all over the nation. He started the first ever AAU Girls Basketball program in Illinois and New York and was a part of the start up here in Arizona. He builds skills in players even as he advocates playing time for all players.

In succeeding weeks, the clinics will feature other outstanding current and former college coaches headlining the clinics in addition to Liza Oakley. Cost for clinics is $20 per session.
