Supervisorial Redistricting Update
The six-member Supervisorial Redistricting Committee has been meeting to devise an alternative redistricting plan to present to the Navajo County Board of Supervisors.
Winslow City Councilman Tom McCauley serves as the committee’s chairman and said that the committee has come up with a plan that does not split any of the municipalities in Navajo County. He believes once that plan is presented to the board, the supervisors will then take the committee’s plan and the originally proposed plan, drawn by District Three Supervisor J.R. DeSpain, and gather public feedback.
He added the public is invited to attend the Redistricting Committee meeting on Monday, October 29 at 5:30 p.m. in the Government Center’s Board of Supervisors Chambers. He also said the dates for public hearings in several municipalities in the county will be announced later.
