Public Hearing

A public hearing on Title IX Formula Grant Project will be held on Thursday, March 22 at 2 p.m. at the Native American Cultural Center conference-room. The public hearing is for parents of Native American children including persons acting on loco parents, teachers and secondary school students. Everyone is welcome to participate. ASEA Meeting

There will be a meeting of the Northern Arizona (Flagstaff and Environs) ASEA Thursday, March 22, at the Engineering Building (Bldg 69) of the Northern Arizona University Room 332. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. For more information, call Don Garrett of at 526-5867.

Call for artists

Share your talents with the Flagstaff community at the Museum of Northern Arizona’s 2nd Annual Arts in Action Day. Visual and performing artists and art teachers are invited to lead Museum visitors through hands-on activities from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. All supplies will be provided as well as a stipend for artists’ time. Interactive musical and dance performances are also welcome. Volunteers interested in assisting artists are also welcome. Shonto Chapter Walk

There will be at walk at Shonto Chapter on Friday, March 23 starting at 10 a.m. The walk will be one mile and various incentives will be given to participants. For more information, call the Health Education office at (520) 697-4225 at Kayenta Health Center.

Planning Conference

The 2001 Comprehensive Planning Conference for Navajo Nation Chapters will be held March 28-30 at San Juan College, Henderson Fine Arts Building, in Farmington. The conference is designed for Community Land Use Planning Committees. The intent is to build local capacity by providing information on Navajo Nation codes, regulations, current infrastructure/housing plans and federal laws pertaining to land use permits. Archeology Day

Get a taste of archaeology yesterday and today at the Museum of Northern Arizona during Archaeology Day Saturday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Several hands-on activities will be scheduled including basket weaving, pictograph paintings, shell pendants, and cordage, as well as instruction on how to analyze prehistoric ceramics. General Meeting

The Native American Church of Navajoland, Inc. will have its third quarter general meeting on Saturday, March 24 at the Chilchinbeto School Gym. The meeting is open to the public.

Benefit Social Song & Dance

A Benefit Social Song & Dance will be held on Saturday, March 24 at the Tuba City St. Jude Parrish Hall gym. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the grand entry is at noon. All Group singers, dancers and public are welcome! The host group is TohNaneesDiei Echos’.
