Ella Mae Nelson

Funeral services for Ella Mae Nelson, 65, was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 7 at the Keams

Canyon Baptist Church with Pastor Ben Yazzie officiating. Interment was in the Jeddito Community Cemetery.

Ella Mae Nelson passed away on September 2 in Low Mountain. She was born on October 16,1934, in Low Mountain. She was a rug weaver and housewife.

Her survivors include: husband, Tex Nelson of Low Mountain; sons, Billy Dean Phillips of Low Mountain and Benson Lee Nelson of Low Mountain; daughters, Dolly Rose Nelson of Low Mountain, Pauline Tsosie of Sanders and Ella Freda Nelson of Blue Gap, Az.; brothers, Woody Sales of Phoenix, Daniel Sales of Low Mountain and Jimmy Armboy, Sr. of Chinle; sisters, Maggie A. Tom and Laura Wartz, both of Low Mountain; fourteen maternal grandchildren and five paternal Grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son, Bilison Nelson; father, Tom Sales and mother, Bah T. Salt Sales; brothers, Ned Sales, Johnny and Stanley Armboy,

Greer's Scott Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.

Hubert James Brockwell

Hubert James (Butch) Brockwell, 79, passed away September 10 in Winslow. He was born Sept. 18, 1920 in Bragg City, Missouri to Pete and Jetti White Brockwell. His mother died June 21, 1925 leaving Butch and his sister Fannie who was five years old. Butch married Sibyl McBride in Libourn, Missouri. During the Depression jobs were hard to find as Butch came west to find work. He worked at several jobs on the West Coast. Then in 1943 he went to work on the Santa Fe Railway in San Bernardino. In 1944 he came to Winslow, where the family has made their home since.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Sibyl of Winslow; sons Danny of flagstaff and Steve of San Bernardino, California; daughter Jetti Tubbs of Flagstaff; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

His parents, two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Memorial services are being held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 13 at the Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Victor Alich officiating.
