Sacred Circle of Life conference held at La Posada April 4-5

The Winslow IHS staff organized the 4th annual Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Prevention Conference held at La Posada April 4-5. It attracted more than 300 registrants to workshop sessions emphasizing both the latest in university research and training in tribal cultural solutions.

Raymond Jim, from the field of Dine traditional medicine, told his packed session about differences earning respect. Other speakers scheduled were from San Diego, Page, Flagstaff, Crownpoint, Apache County and Chinle.

The conference was for social workers, counselors, nurses, teachers and parents and other behavioral health professionals who work with families. All the work to arrange this conference was worth it. This was world-class, and those who attended knew it.
