Homecoming game<br>Winslow 41 Window Rock 8<br>

The Winslow Bulldogs celebrated their Homecoming Game by defeating the Window Rock Scouts 41-8 on Friday. The win left the Bulldogs 4-1 for the season and 3-0 in the Enchantment Region. Window Rock fell to 1-4 for the year and 1-2 in the region.

The Bulldogs drove 70 yards to start the game and scored on Kendal Ybarra's three-yard run. Brandon Nazario converted for a 7-0 lead with 5:57 left in the opening quarter.

Michael Martinez returned a Window Rock punt 67 yards with 2:49 left in the period. Nazario converted and the 14-0 lead held for the remainder of the quarter.

Window Rock almost got back in the game as an apparent 31-yard scoring pass from Elcaro Lee to Lawrence Hickson was nullified by a holding penalty. Winslow took over on downs and drove 67 yards to score. Dustin Taylor ran the final yard and Nazario converted for a 2 1-0 lead with 5:11 left in the period.

The margin grew to 28-0 only 18 seconds later as Martinez intercepted a Scout pass and raced 30 yards to score. Nazario's conversion gave the Bulldogs a 28-0 halftime lead.

Dub Ward caught a Winslow Rock fumble in the air and ran 42 yards for the first score of the third quarter. The conversion gave Winslow a 35-0 lead with 5:23 showing on the clock.

Martinez scored for the third time on a 27-yard run with 2:22 left. The conversion failed and Winslow led 41-0.

Window Rock got on the board with 1:28 left in the game. Kyle Anderson got the score on a three yard run, but Michael Bitaby set up the touchdown with a 94-yard scamper the play before. Lee passed to Anderson for the final points of the game.

The Bulldogs will play at Tuba City on Friday in a game with play-off implications.
