What cannot be seen

This tremendous weekend did not have a professional organizer (unless you count some of the people on the All-Class Reunion committee as the same as professional). People in Winslow and who have been part of Winslow joined together to make it work.

They began over a year ago. Some of them worked every week of the year to get this together. The Jaycees and the Hopi Rodeo Association, the La Posada remodeling, the Winslow Invitational on a new course - and the football field needed only hours later for the Homecoming Game - all these things took immense planning and hard work from probably half the people in Winslow.

It all worked, and that was no accident. As event piled upon event, everyone made room.

Enough cannot be said about the city services too. Streets, police, fire and other crews worked early and late. The cleanup was impressive. There were volunteer groups out for that too, seen on Sunday morning in places like the beer garden sweeping it all up.

We can do it. We just proved it.
